Coil Slitting Line
Dividing a master coil into narrower strips for subsequent manufacturing operations.

From master coil to narrower strips
A slitting line cuts a wide coil longitudinally to produce strips of different widths. How those strips will be processed downstream defines the cutting pattern and recoiling requirements.
Provide the cutting plan with the material
Share material grade, thickness, entry width and coil dimensions alongside required strip widths and typical cutting combinations. Define acceptance criteria for edges, burrs, surface condition and coil build. Include the inspection method rather than relying on a general tolerance statement.
Plan the complete operation
Knife and spacer arrangements, tooling changes, edge-trim handling and removal of finished coils belong in the project scope. Suitability should be assessed against product mix, changeover frequency and factory flow as well as nominal running speed.
Key considerations
- Definition of strip widths and recoiling requirements
- Assessment of surface and edge-quality expectations
- Planned tooling changes and scrap handling
Applications
- Coil processing operations
- Project-specific industrial production
